Weisers's  24" Walnut Mitten Chest

Handcrafted cedar memory chest made for Cindi in Black Walnut with Curly Maple inlay from our list of woods for this custom Heirloom Chest. It is a horizontal style, with a single frame lid, and scroll feet. This chest is our Mitten size and measures 24 inches wide 15 1/2 inches deep and 18 inches high with the scroll feet. This chest includes a floor of solid Aromatic Cedar, as well as a lock.

Cyndi, Here are some views of your finished chest! The second picture is truer walnut color, as is the close-up of the lid.

Front view minus the nameplate which we plan to mount below the lock.  We want your approval of the chest first, for this reason: For the first time ever, Dale miscalculated installing a lock and this one is slightly off center.

Open lid reveals counterbalance which holds the lid open until you close it.
A nice view of the scroll feet. Notice that there is no molded trim piece above them as in other chests with scroll feet.
Walnut lid with contrasting curly maple inlay. This is a single frame style.
 
Clasp of curly maple inlay to show the decorative ripple as light is reflected.
A bit fuzzy, but you can still see the shine on the brass escutcheon covering the keyhole..
